#3_2 "I want to be with you" in Romantic Korean

안녕하세요, 안녕! Hello, everyone. This is Romantic Korean, Kang Sohyeon입니다.

Let's go for today's expression.

"I want to be with you"  같이 있고 싶어요.(x2)

This expression can be used when you show your interest for your future girl friend or boy friend, and it also could mean that I want to stay with you longer, plus, it also means that I want to to spend the night with you, I want to make love with you. Yes, it has lots of meanings. The meaning depends on the situations. It's amazing that this one sentence could have these many meanings, but that's one of the attractions of Korean language.

같이 있고 싶어요.(x2)

Personally I think it sounds very romantic and I like it a lot, because if you want to stay together with somebody, then it means you have a feeling of love. That's how I define the feeling of love. Okay, let's practice. 같이 있고 싶어요. (slow, fast x2) Literally 같이 means "together", 있고 싶어요 means "I want to be",  so "together I want to be" 같이 있고 싶어요. (slow, fast x2)

Let's review!
I want to see you. 보고 싶어요.
I want to kiss you. 뽀뽀하고 싶어요.
I want to be with you. 같이 있고 싶어요.

감사합니다. Thank you very much. 안녕히 계세요. 안녕. good bye!

#3_1 "I want to ~" in Romantic Korean

embed src=""

안녕하세요, 안녕! Hello, everyone. This is Romantic Korean, Kang Sohyeon입니다.

Today we're going to learn the expression about "I want to~"
You can say "I want to", first,  Verb + ~고 싶어요.

Let's go with the examples.

How do you say I want to see you in Korean?
See is 보다 in Korean, so we combine 보다(see) + ~고 싶어요(I want to) together, and it's 보고 싶어요.  It means I want to see you, I miss you. Let's repeat. 보고 싶어요. 우리 자기 보고 싶어요.

Let's learn more more useful expressions for couples.

How do you say I want to kiss you in Korean?
Kiss in Korean is 뽀뽀하다. So  "I want to kiss you". 뽀뽀하다 + ~고 싶어요 together, and it's 뽀뽀하고 싶어요. It means I want to kiss you. Let's repeat. 뽀뽀하고 싶어요. 우리 자기 뽀뽀하고 싶어요.

And then the last expression. I think many many couples really want to know this expression. "I want to make love with you(J'amie faire l'amour avec mon cheri)" I've been thinking how to say 'make love' in Korean and I even asked to my Korean friends, but according to Korean culture, we don't talk direct about sex much, sure, it could be different individually.but normally we don't talk too driect about sex much. So you can say "I want to make love"in Korean "하고 싶어요". 하다 means Do, ~고 싶어요 means I want to, so literally it means "I want to do it". Very interesting? Okay, let's practice. I want to do it, I want to make love with you. 하고 싶어요. 너무 하고 싶어요.  Haha! Yes, very we're getting very naughty.

Okay, so today we learned about "I want to~" expression. Let's review.
I want to see you. 보고 싶어요.[Bo-go-si-peo-yo]
I want to kiss you. 뽀뽀하고 싶어요.[po-po-ha-go-si-peo-yo]
I want to make love with you. 하고 싶어요. ^^[ha-go-si-peo-yo]

감사합니다. Thank you very much. 안녕히 계세요. good bye!

[books] The first Korean dictionary for my kid

Title : 이야기가 있는 어린이 첫 한글 사전
("The first Korean dictionary for my kid")

Price : 11,000won

My review :
Two thumbs Up again!!
Personally I love to learn languages with the picture books for babies or kids
instead of with the books for foreign language learners.
Because you can learn a very natural Korean from these picture books.

This book consists of  lots of topics like food, colors, feelings, family, transportation, sports, etc.
You can see the word, the prononciation
(it's very important fact because lots of Korean words are not prounonced as it is written),
the picture, and an exmple sentence on the page.

I strongly recommend this book to the beginners who want to learn real Korean expressions.
But you have to know how to read Korean alphabets at least before you start this book.

#2 : "Good night, sweet dreams!" in Romantic Korean

Today's Romantic Korean topic : Good night

Casual expression is  잘자! [jal-ja]
So, "my baby, good night" in Korean is 애기, 잘자.[Eki, jal-ja]
And you just add 요, it's polite expression 잘자요! [jal-ja-yo]

After we say 잘자[jal-ja], 잘자요[jal-ja-yo] , then the morning came. We want to ask my 애기 "Did you sleep well?"
And it's Super easy. Did you sleep well? in Korean 잘 잤어? [Jal-ja-seo]
And answer, "Yes, I slept well" is exactly the same but the tone goes down. 잘 잤어? [Jal-ja-seo]
You see? If the tone goes up, it's question. if the tone goes down it's a statement.

OK, listen to the dialogue and repeat after me.

애기[e-ki], 사랑해[sa-rang-hae]. 보고싶어[bo-go-shi-po].
잘자[jal-ja]!
Did you sleep well? 잘 잤어?[jal-ja-seo]
Yes, I slept well. 응, 잘 잤어.?[jal-ja-seo]
